About Us

At SAFE ACTION FIREARMS INSTITUTE (SAFI) our mission is to teach the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for safe, proficient and responsible firearms ownership.

Matt DeMaio, Chief Instructor and President of SAFI is a Certified NRA Firearms Instructor and Range Safety Office and has over 20 years of firearms and marksmanship education and experience through the United States Marine Corps, the NRA and other private firearms training organizations. He is a member of the NRA and the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC), New Jersey’s State NRA affiliate and he currently serves as an assistant firearms instructor with the ANJRPC on an as needed basis. He is a strong advocate for the 2 Amendment and is active in the NJ 2A community.
